in the air force, if you work in my career field (air transportation) you're referred to as a "port dawg"... i'm not completely sure where the term comes from (port = aerial port... i'm just not sure about the "dawg" part), but it's been around for awhile. pretty much, anything that gets moved by air (cargo, passengers, etc..) is prepared, inspected, loaded, and offloaded by my career field. basically, nothing in the military gets moved by air unless people like me move it. that's a fairly broad explanation though. i actually am pretty proud of what i do. what i do has a very broad scope and is pretty darn visible to the world... but anyways... the image this is based off of is older. i've not been able to find one around the net to show... if i think of it later, i'll post it to my photobucket or something and come back and edit this post with a link.

this is a painting i did for my squadron and it was a pain in the butt. i mostly used paint markers (at least for the lines). i'm happy with how it looks though and my higher ups are too i think. so that's good.

originally i had planned for the character to be a light brown on his skin, but my officer that tasked me to do this said that he much preferred the image left like it is, which was fine... because that was much less work for me.

i have another painting on the opposite wall from this one, but i haven't taken a picture yet. i'll probably get that today and post it a little later.
